Olsen:

Dr. Taylor Olsen with Olsen Orthodontics has not only been a long term sponsor of the Mako Foundation, but also a long term parent at Vista Del Mar. The Olsen Family has six Makos and 13 years invested in our school with six to go! Dr. Olsen has been a sponsor for our Mako Challenge run for several years. Concept Paving:

Concept Paving and The Cobb Family has been our generous sponsor for Mako Masters the past two years. With two Makos at our school the Cobb Family continued to give above and beyond to the Mako Foundation and Vista Del Mar. Concept Paving offers a variety of Asphalt, Concrete and ADA Compliance services for both existing site improvements and new construction. Thank You Cobb Family and Concept Paving!

In the last five years the MAKO Foundation has deployed over $850,000 into the Vista del Mar Elementary and Middle Schools as follows:

Chromebook Program ($224,000)

Chromebooks provided for individual student use at each grade level from Kindergarten through 8th grade

Supplemental Programs & Staffing ($282,000)

Counseling Services; Librarian; Instructional Aides; State Championship Qualifying Robotics Program; STEAM Lab; Technology Program; Music & Drama Program; Culinary Arts Program; Middle School New Student Academy; MAKO Your Way to Kindergarten Academy

Teacher Training ($96,000)

Elementary School Writing Program; Teacher Collaboration Days; Teacher Conferences and Symposiums (UCI Writing Conferences, PLC Conference, PAL Advisor Training, AVID Training, NGSS Science Department Training, Technology Conferences)

Safety ($116,000)

Security Cameras; Electronic Visitor Sign-In System; Two-Way Radios; Classroom Safety Enhancements

Student Enrichment ($75,000)

Survivor Book Club; Subscriptions (Scholastic News, Listenwise, Newsela Pro, ClassMarker); Field Trips (Students Run LA, CA Science Center, Disney Performing Arts Center); Assemblies; Award Programs; Student Tutoring; Zero Period

Class Room Grants ($67,000)

Classroom Technology (ELMO Projectors for each Classroom, Teacher Technology, Computers, 3d Printers, Robotics & Video Production Equipment); Physical Education Equipment; Science (Equipment and Project Materials) 

Campus Enhancement Projects ($29,000)

Rebuild Splash Zone Stage; Handball Wall Murals; Filtered Water Stations (water stations co-funded with PTA)
